DARIEN HIGH SCHOOL CLASS of 1960 - 50th Reunion
 

Dear Classmates:

We are pleased to announce the plans we have made for a fun filled, 50th High School Class Reunion Weekend to be held the weekend of October 1-4, 2010.

Friday - 10/1

  • Round of Golf – Silvermine Golf Club, Norwalk - $82 – Arrange with Bob Zangrillo
  • Welcoming – Cocktails & Hors d ‘Oeuvres – 5-8 pm - Doubletree Hotel, Norwalk

Saturday – 10/2

  • Bus Tour – Darien – 9:30 am – meets at the Doubletree Hotel in Norwalk. If not staying there -
    • Meet at the Darien RR Station, Brooks Brothers Parking lot side
    • Book – The Story of Darien Connecticut (available for purchase prior to tour*)
  • Homecoming Parade – leaves the Depot Teen Center at 12 noon…arrives at DHS around 12:45 pm. Those on the bus tour will watch the parade from the high school
  • Lunch at DHS – Concession (hotdogs, pizza, fries) opens ½ hr. before game – 1 pm
  • Homecoming Game – 1:30 pm
    • Recognition at Half Time – alums on the field/parade with homecoming classes
  • Dinner Dance – Wee Burn – 7-11 pm
    • Year Book
    • Itinerary Keepsake – Class of 1960

Sunday – 10/3

  • Breakfast/Brunch – Sugar Bowl – Hours: 7:00 am – 3 pm

Monday – 10/4

  • Attend a class at DHS – times TBD

The price of the reunion activities is $135 per person (Deadline August 15, 2010)
(Includes Welcoming Party at the Doubletree, Bus Tour of Darien, Dinner Dance at Wee Burn, and D. J.)

Information about The Story of Darien, Connecticut is available on the Darien Historical Society Website: http://Historical.darien.org. This beautiful book may be ordered directly through the Darien Historical Society and picked up on the tour at the Historical Society.

A block of 40 rooms have been reserved at the Doubletree Hotel at 789 Connecticut Avenue (Post Road), just over the town line in Norwalk. The group room rate is $84 plus tax per night for October 1 and 2nd. Reservations need to be made by September 8, 2010 by calling the hotel at (800) 492-7148; request the “Darien High School Class of 1960 Reunion” block of rooms. For those who wish to stay over, the hotel will honor the special group rate of $84 for October 3 and 4.
